For one night only, The Willow will be hosting an all-star ensemble of jazz/funk legends, bringing together members of Lettuce, Gramatik, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Dumpstaphunk, Rebelution, and more!It all starts with CakeWalk, opening up the show with nine-pieces of groovy funk glory. One of the best newer acts to come out of NOLA, be sure to keep your eyes on these guys.After CakeWalk, the main act is a glorious ensemble that includes Nigel Hall, Eric Benny Bloom, Andrew Block, Big Sam, Eric Vogel, Alvin Ford Jr., Ian Neville, Khris Royal, and Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph. That’s a whole lot of talent for one sentence!Nigel Hall’s Top 10 Keyboardists Of All TimeHall and Bloom are familiar faces to anyone who’s seen Lettuce, as Bloom provides some Shady Horn prowess and Hall rocks the keys and vocals. Bring in R&B/Soul guitarist Andrew Block, who is currently a member of Gramatik’s touring band, and things are cooking.Big Sam and Eric Vogel of Big Sam’s Funky Nation will be joining in as well, with the charismatic bandleader Big Sam bringing out some hefty trombone and Vogel laying down some thick bass lines.We’re also bringing two members of the acclaimed Dumpstaphunk into the mix, Ian Neville and Alvin Ford Jr. behind the kit. Daily Mail:Wisdom really does come from experience.A new study has found adults aged 60 and over are better at strategising their decisions than those in their late teens and early 20s, who tend to focus on instant gratification.Researchers at The University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University said the findings contradict negative stereotypes elders lose mental edge and reasoning ability with age, showing they are able to make better decisions under some conditions.
