More information can be found at KenaiRiverMarathon.org. The 2020 Kenai River Marathon will not be a Boston Marathon Qualifier. The Kenai Chamber of Commerce told KSRM that there are multiple needs, both on the day of the event as well as the days leading up to it: “To volunteer, either the Friday or Saturday prior to the event – to help with bib handouts, they can get a hold of us. Or, if they would like to volunteer on the actual day of the race, we are very grateful for any and all volunteers we get for our event as well as we are in the need of people to host water stations. If you’re interested in any of those, you can give us a call at (907) 283-1991.” Proceeds generated from the Kenai River Marathon will go to the Kenai Community Foundation to support the development of parks and recreation in and around Kenai. The Kenai River Marathon is hosted by the Kenai Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center in partnership with the City of Kenai, as well as many community volunteers. For 2018, Office Angels will support Make a Wish Foundation, a charity that grants magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting critical illness.Whether it’s starring in their own films, walking with dinosaurs, going on an amazing holiday, meeting a celebrity hero, or having a bedroom makeover; the wishes are varied, personal and life-changing.Make a Wish go above and beyond to grant amazing wishes to very amazing children; their One True Wish made a reality at a time when they need it most. A child’s life shouldn’t be about illness, hospitals and diagnosis – it should be about wonder, joy and hope. The effects a wish can have on a seriously ill child are clear: from creating incredible memories, building confidence and bringing happiness, to providing respite from the daily struggles that come with a critical illness. Make a Wish know what wishes can give, and this is the driving force behind why they continue to do what they do.Office Angels and Make a Wish can’t make these life-changing experiences happen without the generosity of others.Volunteers will be based throughout the concourse ahead of kick-off to raise funds; so all donations – no matter how big or small – will make a substantial difference. For more information of their invaluable work, click here.
